Home education

Your child isn't at school. Start here on Monday.

ParkSyde Learning 2027, the edition written for the 2027 school year, is support for a home-educating parent — not a school. Subscribe from your child's first year of school, and every year after it is already written and sequenced: every learning area, every unit, every lesson, through to Year 10, with senior starter units for Years 11 and 12 after that. For families whose child has stopped going — and who now have to teach, without training, often without much warning — it is written to be picked up and run with.

Open now — Prep to Year 12

Quality over quantity. Every lesson is whole: explicit teaching, a worked example, practice together with hints on hand, a check that shows which misunderstanding is in the way, a task your child chooses, and a reflection to finish. Your child moves through it at their own pace, you stay the educator, and the learning record keeps building as they go. The size, plainly: about 89 hours of lessons a year at Prep, rising to about 319 hours at Year 10; reading, writing, play and life are the learning time around them, and the record keeps both. If you want something that runs every hour of the day, you should know that before you pay us, not after.

What it costs

$200 covers your whole family for the rest of 2026 — one payment, every child, through to 31 December. Nothing renews, and in January you decide whether to carry on. Your Learning Start consultation is booked from January, to plan the year ahead. Or choose one of two plans:

Two plans, from $99 a month.

The same program on both: every lesson, the learning record, the diagnostics. Learning is $99 a month and Learning + Consultation is $119 a month; additional learners are $79 a month on either plan. On a subscription your first week is yours to try: nothing is charged until day 8. The $200 payment is charged in full on the day, so the week to try it is not part of it.

Learning

$99 / month

Or $990 a year paid annually ($82.50 a month). Every lesson, the learning record, the diagnostics — everything in the program.

ParkSyde can also arrange a range of professional supports — a registered teacher, a counsellor or a psychologist — whenever your family wants one, quoted before anything is booked.

Learning + Consultation

$119 / month

Or $1,190 a year paid annually ($99.17 a month). Everything in Learning, plus one Learning Start consultation a year to plan the year ahead.

Paying annually is twelve months for the price of ten on either plan: it saves $198 a year on Learning and $238 a year on Learning + Consultation. Each additional learner is $79 a month, or $790 a year. Cancel any time from your own account page — no lock-in and no exit fee.

  • Getting in touch costs nothing and commits you to nothing. No card, no deposit, no obligation to go ahead. Nothing is charged until you have chosen to start and said yes to a number you have already seen.
  • All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. You can cancel at any time from your account page; read our refund policy before you pay.
  • If what we quote you ever differs from what is on this page, the lower figure is the one we will honour.
  • You can start now. The curriculum, the diagnostics and the records are live, and your child's progress is saved to your account rather than to one browser — so it is there when you change device, and there when someone asks to see it.

What you actually get

Not a library of worksheets. A sequenced program, with the paperwork built in.

It starts in the first year of school — Prep in Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania, Kindergarten in New South Wales and the ACT, Reception in South Australia, Pre-primary in Western Australia and Transition in the Northern Territory — and every year after it, to Year 10, is there before you begin. Queensland's kindy, the year before Prep, is not covered.

P–10Every year from the first year of school to Year 10, written and sequenced. Years 11 and 12 have eleven senior starter units each, and no certificate.
501Units of work, sequenced and ready
8Learning areas
1,425Curriculum codes across Prep–Year 10, cited 1,616 times between the units and every citation verified real. Years 11–12 starter units cite QCE syllabuses instead, and lead to no certificate.

How a day works

Explicit teaching, guided practice, then something they choose.

We find a starting point

A check, not a birthday

Short assessments in reading, maths and science report strand by strand — secure, developing or emerging — so you know what to teach next rather than what grade to give. They anchor around Year 2 to Year 5 difficulty; outside that range you set the starting point — with your Learning Start teacher, if your plan includes the consultation.

Written for you as well

You don't have to be a teacher

In the early years the lessons are scripted for the adult reading them aloud, word for word. From the middle years the teaching is written to the learner, with worked examples, hints, and a note on what each wrong answer actually means. Most lessons need nothing but paper and a pencil; where something has to be gathered first, the lesson says so at the top.

They pick the route

Choice, with the bar unchanged

Build it, draw it, film it, write it — the success criteria are identical either way. Interest chooses the doorway; it never decides what is expected.

The record accumulates

Kept as you go, not reconstructed later

Completed lessons, check results and your child's own reflections are recorded against the curriculum codes while the learning happens — so nothing has to be remembered back into existence in December.

The part nobody else publishes

We show you how we checked it.

Every curriculum code on the platform was verified against ACARA's published set by machine. The units cite a code 1,616 times between them, across 1,425 distinct codes — 1,616 of 1,616 real, no duplicates. That part is simply true and checkable.

Whether each code genuinely matches what the lesson teaches is a judgement call, so we marked a random sample of 100 against the official descriptions and published what we found: 13 disagreed. Six were real errors and were corrected; the rest were wording we decided to defend. That was our own review, not an independent one, and the page says so in those words.

We publish the method, the limits, the places we deliberately teach something in a different year to the curriculum's sequence, and the honest upper bound on how often we are still wrong. If you find a mistake, tell us: we confirm within two business days and fix it within five, and every correction is listed publicly.

Including the parts that do not flatter us: the method, its limits, and the honest upper bound on how often we are still wrong.

You are the educator. Not us.

This is the bit we will not budge on.

You chose an alternative to mainstream schooling. So the platform works for you, not the other way around — the goalposts are yours to move.

  • Preview the sensitive material. Where a unit covers protective behaviours in the early years, or consent in Year 10, the unit overview sets out exactly what is in it — including the words used — before your child opens it.
  • Change anything. Reword it, re-time it, teach it yourself away from the screen, or substitute your own material entirely. What you cover and how you record it is yours; we do not police it and there is nothing to submit to us.
  • We never measure you. No parent rating, no engagement league table, no report on the supervising adult to anyone. We do not collect it, so it cannot exist.
  • We never contact your child. No chat, no messaging, no public profiles, no child accounts — so a child has no upload surface. A photo of their work is yours to add, never ours to ask for, and yours to delete in a click. Everything comes to you.

What it costs

Learning

$99 per month

Every lesson in every learning area, all 501 units, the learning record and the diagnostics, for your first learner. Cancel any time, from your own account page. ParkSyde can also arrange a range of professional supports — a registered teacher, a counsellor or a psychologist — whenever your family wants one, quoted before anything is booked.

Learning + Consultation · $119 per month

One Learning Start consultation each year

Everything in Learning, plus this: a registered teacher, counsellor or psychologist sits down with your family and helps you plan the year. We book them in the order families join, a few each week, so yours may come a little after you start; the lessons are yours from the first day.

Additional learners are discounted ($79 a month on either plan). Current rates always live on this page and on our fees page — if two published figures ever differ, the lower figure is the one we will honour.

For teachers, schools and allied health

If you assess this for a living

You will want to know the mapping is real before you recommend it. So: the alignment method, the audit tooling and the known limitations are all published, and we would rather you attacked them than took our word.

  • A worked registration example — a full program summary for one year level, generated from the live platform, with every code listed.
  • The evidence base — every pedagogical claim carries its citation, contested evidence is flagged as contested, and there is a list of what we refuse to claim.
  • Our own audit, and its limits — we marked 100 outcomes against the official descriptions and found 13 we disagreed with. That was a self-audit, and we would rather you knew the number than trusted the adjective.
  • A place on the review panel — the honest gap is that no independent teacher has marked our alignment yet. If you would be willing to, we will send you the sample and publish what you find, including if it is unflattering.

The evidence base is public — every claim with its citation, and the list of what we refuse to claim. The worked registration example is not on the site; ask and we will send it, along with a place on the review panel if you want one.

Straight answers, held with pride

You deserve to know exactly where you stand — so here it is, plainly and happily.

  • Your registrar stays the decision-maker. We teach, and we keep a record worth showing them — that’s the system working the way it should, and we built for it on purpose.
  • Your child writes their own story. We won’t sell you a promised outcome — what we bring is honest teaching, a record that shows real progress, and people who are easy to reach when something needs adjusting.
  • Our evidence is being built the right way — in the open. We’re early in our journey, so the research we lean on today is the field’s rather than our own. As ours arrives, this page is where you’ll see it — whatever it says.
  • Funding calls belong to Services Australia. Where an assessment genuinely supports documentation, we provide it — that integrity protects your family exactly as much as it protects us.

Who registers home education where you live

Registration is between your family and your state or territory — not something we do, or can do for you. It is worth knowing who that is before anything else, because they set the rules you will be working to.

  • Queensland — the Department of Education's Home Education Unit.
  • New South Wales — the NSW Department of Education (registration transferred here from NESA in May 2025; NESA still sets the curriculum).
  • Victoria — the VRQA, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.
  • South Australia — the Department for Education.
  • Western Australia — the Department of Education, through its home education moderators.
  • Tasmania — the Office of the Education Registrar.
  • Northern Territory — the NT Department of Education and Training.
  • ACT — the Education Directorate's home education team.

Search the name for your state and you will land on the right page. Moving interstate means registering again with the new authority — an existing registration does not travel. We are not any of these bodies and we do not speak for them; if what they tell you differs from anything here, they are right and we would like to know so we can fix it.

Look before you decide anything.

The full curriculum map is open — every year, every unit, every lesson title, no sign-up needed. The first lesson of each learning area, in every year, is open to try. Or leave your details below and we will come to you.

What happens to this. ParkSyde Life Pty Ltd (ABN 14 678 837 468) collects your name, your contact detail and — if you give them — the year levels you are thinking about, so a real person can talk it through with you. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anything else. Ask us and we will show you what we hold or delete it. Full detail in our privacy policy.
