Home education

Your child isn't at school. Start here on Monday.

For families whose child has stopped going — and who now have to teach, without training, often without much warning. Prep to Year 12, sequenced, mapped to the curriculum, and written to be picked up and run with.

Enrolments opening Term 4 — an aim, not a promise

Honest about size: this is the spine of a year, not the whole of one — roughly 11 hours of explicit teaching at Prep rising to 33 hours at Year 10, around which you build reading, writing, play and life. A full school year is nearer 1,000 hours. If you want something that fills every one of them, you should know that before you pay us, not after.

Term 4 — early families

$100 a month for your first two months.

Term 4 runs 6 October to 11 December 2026 — nine and a half weeks. This rate is open until the end of Week 3, Friday 23 October, because families who pull a child out of school rarely do it on day one of a term. After that, standard pricing.

Your first two months

$100 / month

Two payments of $100 for your first learner, starting when you do. Cancel any time from your own account page.

After that

$119 / month

Standard pricing, from your third payment onward. Term 4 runs across three monthly payments, so the last one is at this rate — we would rather you knew that now than found it on an invoice.

Standard pricing is $119 a month, or $1,190 a year ($99.17 a month) if you pay annually — we are showing you both so you can check the comparison yourself. The early-family rate takes $19 a month off your first two payments — $38 across the two.

  • Joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing. No card, no deposit, no obligation to go ahead. Nothing is charged until enrolments open and you choose to start.
  • This rate closes at the end of Week 3 — Friday 23 October 2026. It is an early-family rate for joining, not a rate held indefinitely: it applies to your first two payments, and from your third you move to standard pricing. We will tell you what that is before you are charged anything.
  • All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. You can cancel at any time from your account page; see our refund policy before you pay.
  • Term 4 is what we are aiming at, not a promise. If it is not right by then we will move the date rather than open early — and a waitlist place costs you nothing either way.

How a day works

Explicit teaching, guided practice, then something they choose.

We find a starting point

A check, not a birthday

Short assessments in reading, maths and science report strand by strand — secure, developing or emerging — so you know what to teach next rather than what grade to give. They anchor around Year 2 to Year 5 difficulty; outside that range you and your Learning Start teacher set the starting point together.

Written for you as well

You don't have to be a teacher

In the early years the lessons are scripted for the adult reading them aloud, word for word. From the middle years the teaching is written to the learner, with worked examples, hints, and a note on what each wrong answer actually means. Most lessons need nothing but paper and a pencil; where something has to be gathered first, the lesson says so at the top.

They pick the route

Choice, with the bar unchanged

Build it, draw it, film it, write it — the success criteria are identical either way. Interest chooses the doorway; it never decides what is expected.

The record accumulates

Kept as you go, not reconstructed later

Completed lessons, check results and your child's own reflections are recorded against the curriculum codes while the learning happens — so nothing has to be remembered back into existence in December.

The part nobody else publishes

We show you how we checked it.

Every curriculum code on the platform was verified against ACARA's published set by machine — 818 of 818 real, no duplicates. That part is simply true and checkable.

Whether each code genuinely matches what the lesson teaches is a judgement call, so we marked a random sample of 100 against the official descriptions and published what we found: 13 disagreed. Six were real errors and were corrected; the rest were wording we decided to defend. That was our own review, not an independent one, and the page says so in those words.

We publish the method, the limits, the places we deliberately teach something in a different year to the curriculum's sequence, and the honest upper bound on how often we are still wrong. If you find a mistake, tell us: we confirm within two business days and fix it within five, and every correction is listed publicly.

The platform is invitation-only while we finish building, so that page is not public yet. Ask and we will send it to you in full — including the parts that do not flatter us.

You are the educator. Not us.

This is the bit we will not budge on.

You chose an alternative to mainstream schooling. So the platform works for you, not the other way around — the goalposts are yours to move.

  • Preview the sensitive material. Where a unit covers protective behaviours in the early years, or consent in Year 10, the unit overview sets out exactly what is in it — including the words used — before your child opens it.
  • Change anything. Reword it, re-time it, teach it yourself away from the screen, or substitute your own material entirely. What you cover and how you record it is yours; we do not police it and there is nothing to submit to us.
  • We never measure you. No parent rating, no engagement league table, no report on the supervising adult to anyone. We do not collect it, so it cannot exist.
  • We never contact your child. No chat, no messaging, no uploads, no public profiles, no child accounts. Everything comes to you.

What it costs

Family

$119 per month

Full Prep–12 access for your first learner, every learning area, all 97 units. Cancel any time, from your own account page.

Included

One Learning Start consultation each year

A registered teacher, counsellor or psychologist sits down with your family at the intake assessment and helps you plan the year.

Additional learners are discounted ($79 a month at standard pricing). Ask us for the current rates in writing before you commit to anything — and if what we quote you ever differs from what is on this page, the lower figure is the one we will honour.

For teachers, schools and allied health

If you assess this for a living

You will want to know the mapping is real before you recommend it. So: the alignment method, the audit tooling and the known limitations are all published, and we would rather you attacked them than took our word.

  • A worked registration example — a full program summary for one year level, generated from the live platform, with every code listed.
  • The evidence base — every pedagogical claim carries its citation, contested evidence is flagged as contested, and there is a list of what we refuse to claim.
  • Our own audit, and its limits — we marked 100 outcomes against the official descriptions and found 13 we disagreed with. That was a self-audit, and we would rather you knew the number than trusted the adjective.
  • A place on the review panel — the honest gap is that no independent teacher has marked our alignment yet. If you would be willing to, we will send you the sample and publish what you find, including if it is unflattering.

We will send the evidence base, the alignment method and its limits, and the worked registration example. The platform itself is invitation-only until we open, so we would rather post you the documents than point you at a locked door.

Straight answers, held with pride

You deserve to know exactly where you stand — so here it is, plainly and happily.

  • Your registrar stays the decision-maker. We teach, and we keep a record worth showing them — that’s the system working the way it should, and we built for it on purpose.
  • Your child writes their own story. We won’t sell you a promised outcome — what we bring is honest teaching, a record that shows real progress, and people who are easy to reach when something needs adjusting.
  • Our evidence is being built the right way — in the open. We’re early in our journey, so the research we lean on today is the field’s rather than our own. As ours arrives, this page is where you’ll see it — whatever it says.
  • Funding calls belong to Services Australia. Where an assessment genuinely supports documentation, we provide it — that integrity protects your family exactly as much as it protects us.

Ask us anything before you decide.

We will send you the full curriculum map — every year, every unit, every lesson title — along with the alignment method and its limits. No sign-up, no call required, and no obligation after reading it.

What happens to this. ParkSyde Life Pty Ltd (ABN 14 678 837 468) collects your name, your contact detail and — if you give them — the year levels you are thinking about, so a real person can talk to you about Term 4. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anything else. Ask us and we will show you what we hold or delete it. Full detail in our privacy policy.
