Who this page is for
Anyone. The mechanic who can teach a room to change a tyre. The grandmother with forty years of sourdough in her hands. The teenager who is better at AI tools than everyone twice her age. The bloke who got through something and can say how.
You do not need letters after your name, a slide deck, or any experience presenting. You need something real, and the willingness to hand it on. Being nervous about it is the normal way to arrive, not a reason to stay home.
What a session can be
Whatever shape the thing itself wants. A twenty-minute talk. A hands-on workshop. A demonstration where people crowd around and watch. A conversation you lead. Something for adults, something for families, something for a roomful of kids — one time, or something that runs whenever you can.
In person in Rockhampton, or online. How and where a session runs is worked out with you, not fixed in advance — the same way everything at ParkSyde runs.
What happens after you offer
A person reads it, and a person rings you. Then you work it out together.
Some offers become a session next month. Some become something neither of you would have thought of alone. And some are not a fit — and if yours is one of those, you will be told plainly and quickly, rather than left waiting for an answer that never comes. Offering costs you nothing and commits you to nothing.
Nothing you send is published anywhere. Your name goes nowhere public unless you ask us to put it there in writing, and you see anything that carries it before it goes up. If your idea involves working with children, there are checks that come before anything runs — the person who rings will walk you through exactly what those are.
Why we ask
Because a park where the community only ever receives is a service, and ParkSyde is trying to be a place. The other pages here are what ParkSyde hands out — the free things, the rooms, the programs. This page is the door that swings the other way.
Or ring 0467 937 659 and just say it out loud — that works too.
