Memorabilia store — the park

Inside the Memorabilia store shop at ParkSyde, drawn in the park’s own low, warm dawn light. A still pool of light lies at the centre of the room, holding the dawn. Nine trees stand spread around it, each mirrored faintly on the floor beneath it, and two lamps on posts flank a footpath of light leading in. Near the pool: a glazed cabinet, lit, with small pieces set out in it, a piece on its plinth, under glass, two cartons, still to be unpacked — nobody is behind anything, and nothing stands between them and you. Spread out across the room, each on its own post, are six brass push buttons. Their labels, floating over them, read: What’s here; What it costs; What to ask when you ring; Before you come; Ask for a time; Reach a person. Pressing one walks you over and the shop tells you that one thing.

What’s here

A little store with heart — memorabilia, finds and pieces with a story, run as part of the ParkSyde community. It isn't trading yet, and we would rather say so than have you arrive at a counter with nothing on it. If you have pieces, or you'd like to be told when it opens, that is what the message form is for.
