ParkSyde One · How-to guide

Getting started, step by step

Everything you need to feel at home in ParkSyde One — in plain language, no jargon. And if you'd rather learn by doing, there's a Practice Lab where you can try every button without worrying about breaking a thing.

Start here

Two ways to begin

Read the steps below whenever you like — or jump straight into the Lab and poke around. Most people find a few minutes in the Lab settles the nerves faster than anything.

Practice Lab

Try it all — you can't break anything

A safe copy of ParkSyde One with pretend data. Add things, change things, delete things, switch between access levels to see how the view changes — then reset it good as new. Nothing you do touches the real system or the website.

The basics

The everyday things, one at a time

These are the handful of things most people do in ParkSyde One. Each works the same in the Lab, so you can practise as you read.

Open ParkSyde One and sign in with your own account. There's no shared password — the platform always knows it's you, which is part of what keeps everyone's information safe.

Find your way around

Your home screen shows only the areas your access level allows — so it's never cluttered with things that aren't yours to worry about. Community, requests, tasks, rosters and notices are the main ones.

Raise a request

Need a job done, a lift, or a hand with something? Open Requests, type what you need, and add it. You'll be able to follow it from start to finish.

Work through your tasks

Your tasks are the day's work. Tick one off when it's done, add your own, and clear away what's finished. Nothing is ever really lost — and in the Lab you can delete freely to see how it works.

Post a notice

Coordinators and up can post notices for the community — morning tea, a new face, a change of plan. Everyone can read them.

Understand your access level

Your level (1–5) decides what you can see and do, and it's set by an administrator to match your role. See the five levels →

If you're worried you'll break something

You won't — and here's why

It's the most common worry with any new system, and it's a fair one. So we built the worry out.

🧪

The Lab can't break

Practise on a safe copy with pretend data. Whatever you do there stays there, and reset returns it to new.

🔒

Access keeps you safe

You only ever see what your level allows, so it's hard to wander somewhere you shouldn't — the system looks after that.

Someone's always there

Stuck or unsure? Ask a coordinator, or get in touch. No question is too small.

Need a hand?

We'd rather you asked than worried

If anything here isn't clear, or you'd like someone to sit with you the first time, just say. That's what we're here for.
