Consent & privacy in plain words

A short, everyday-language guide to what you're agreeing to and the choices that stay yours. For the full detail, see our Privacy Policy.

What "consent" means here

Consent means you decide. Before anything happens, we explain it in plain language, and you choose whether to go ahead. You can ask questions, take your time, or say no — and you can change your mind later. Nothing is hidden in fine print.

What we ask for, and why

We only ask for information we genuinely need to help you — like how to contact you, and enough about your situation to offer the right support. If we ever ask for something more sensitive (like health information), it's because it's necessary for your care, and we'll explain why.

What we do with it

The choices that stay yours

A note on confidentiality. Conversations with a counsellor are private. There are a few limits — for example, where there's a serious risk of harm, or the law requires it — and these are always explained to you up front.
